One question, cast the day you send it, answered in a few lines.

This is the method I use most. In Chinese it is 梅花易数; the nearest honest English name is I Ching divination, though the casting is quicker than the phrase suggests.
It suits a question with edges: will this sell, is he telling the truth, should I go on the 14th or the 21st. It does not suit "what is my life for" — for that you want the year chart or a full bazi.
