BaZi — known in the West as the Four Pillars of Destiny — is read from the year, month, day and hour you were born. It is the long form: what you are made of, which decades favour you, where the same problem keeps coming back from.
People apologise to me about the missing hour more than anything else. A missing hour is not a missing reading. The day pillar, which carries the person, does not move. If the hour is gone I ask for three or four dated events instead and narrow it that way — and when the candidates disagree, I tell you they disagree.
