A client asked about issues to watch for during a home inspection. Six points were noted, and all were confirmed on site.

Got the keys! We can do the home inspection this weekend. I wanted to ask you — what kind of problems should I look out for? Things that would need repairs. I’d really appreciate your take on this.

A few things to check:
1. Wiring and switch issues. Some wiring or sockets may be installed backwards. Check every socket carefully.
2. [redacted] was overdone, and the board materials have issues. Look closely — some boards may have cracks or be misaligned.
3. Sharp corners. Pay attention to sharp corners along your walking paths — places where you might hit your head when looking up, or bump your leg when walking.
4. This next one is a floor plan issue, related to road冲 and 穿堂煞 [direct through-flow of energy]. First check if your door faces the neighbor’s door directly. Also check if there are door-to-door, window-to-window, or hallway-to-door alignments inside the home.
5. Some obstruction to natural light.
6. Alignment issues. Check grout lines, door frames, and other places that need to be properly aligned — these are prone to errors.

5 采光有一定的遮挡。
6 对齐问题，检查下美缝，门套，这一
些需要对齐的地方，容易有差错。

Actually, I couldn’t find the sixth one at first. Today it started raining, since the plum rain season began. Water got into the bathroom, and we realized water on the bay window was actually flowing inward.
