My son is in 8th grade, 13 years old. His grades are above average in class. He likes playing on his phone a bit too much, which affects his studies. I wanted more support for his learning, so I’m asking about the academic and exams arrangement.

In 2021 his studies went relatively well.
In 2022 there were fluctuations but they were still manageable.
From 2023 his grades started slipping, and the slip got worse in 2024. His attitude became散漫 (unfocused and lazy). Also in 2024 there were changes in his school environment — like a teacher change, a change of institution, or changes in classmate relationships. New friends he made were holding him back instead of motivating him, and the school environment was also relatively loose.
There are a few things we can adjust:
1. Don’t keep any [redacted] ornaments, plush toys, or decorations in the house.
