Zongyuan, I’m here to share what happened with my husband. We asked about his career around Lunar New Year. In April, his company put out a notice about internal promotions. At the time there was no word on which position it would be, and no other news going around, so I told him to apply. Then last Friday, he got a call from HR saying he passed the interview and would be promoted. We only found out this week that it’s a promotion in his current team [emoji]. The nature of the work is the same, the workload is about the same, but his pay has gone up. I don’t know if things will get easier later — you mentioned before that the office politics are complicated.
