A quick feedback on this year’s fortune — several points have come true. One is the work change and pay raise: at the end of August, my direct supervisor left. The company scaled back business and didn’t hire anyone new, so they had me take on part of the work, with a small symbolic pay raise. Another is that in October, my shoulder, neck and lower back problems got worse. Last weekend I accidentally twisted my lower back, could barely move, and had to go to the hospital for scans and treatment before I could even go back to work. Then there’s investments: I didn’t earn much, but after making up for previous losses, I still have a small profit.
